About squishy toys
Squishy toys are slow-rising foam or gel toys that compress in the hand and return to shape, made for squeezing during moments of stress or boredom. The appeal is texture: soft foam, jelly-like stretch and shapes from pastries to pandas, each with its own resistance. Many kids use them as calm-down tools during homework or long car rides. They fit kids 4-8 best, though plenty of tweens 9-12 keep one on a desk. Skip them for toddlers 1-3, since small squishies can tear and shed pieces, and wipe them clean with mild soap rather than a machine wash. Sensory toy guide →
